Information Are you a follower of the "New Atheism" movement
Or are you just a disbeliever "Atheist", and nothing else.
Just curious to hear how strong your belief (Disbelief) are.

RE: Are you a follower of the "New Atheism" movement
I guess I would classify myself as an "Old" atheist. What people do in the privacy of their own homes is their business, and if they choose to worship a three legged dog with mange, I say have at it. It's when they attempt to push their beliefs on others that I have a problem with it. Just because they think their three legged mangy dog has special powers doesn't mean that I should have money in my pocket that says, "In Buster we Trust".

I don't particularly identify with any type of movements. Just keep your religions to yourself and other consenting adults See that? ADULTS. Children are too young to be forced into something they don't understand.

I don't have a religion, was just curious to hear people's stand on it. Consider

RE: Are you a follower of the "New Atheism" movement
I am a relatively "new" atheist. But I'm not particularly interested in a movement as such. I am interested in helping to spread rationality and humanism, but I need no label to do so.

Not sure what to say about the "how strong" my belief/disbelief is.

But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

I have read some of their works and do subscribe to most of their ideas. I don't know if I would classify myself as a "new" atheist. Of the 4 I think I was a bigger fan of Hitchens than any of the others, more because I enjoyed his style.

I don't see anything "new" about it, so; no.

Just a non-believer of belief. That's all. Nothing else. I ain't gonna answer some anti-theist call to arms anymore than I'm gonna answer some fundie call to arms. Girly ain't gonna be conscripted by anyone, I ain't conscriptable. Tongue

As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.
