I agree but I'd add:
5. Strong emotional stress (caused by illness, war, relative death, etc.)

It seems that #5 is about as likely to destroy someone's faith.

Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.

A double-edged sword? ConsiderI like that idea.

A cancer diagnosis didn't make me think I should pray...why would I?

So severe illness didn't push me back into begging, pleading, deal-making with, or worship of any diety.

I went with an excellent medical team. Seems to have been effective.

My lack of belief isn't a void that needs to be filled.

RE: Are you afraid of losing your atheism?
I'm with Hitch on this. If I ever lost my lack of faith (confusing) it would probably due to some kind of mental illness, in which case i would no longer be myself. That's pretty frightening but not something I think about very often.

"While religions tell us next to nothing useful or true about the universe, they do tell us an enormous amount - perhaps an embarrassing amount - about ourselves, about what we value, fear and lust after." Iain M Banks

No.
Never.
Not a chance.

Even as a kid it seemed idiotic to believe in the BS they spit.

Atheist.
