Come on Starky! Jeez. You're just arguing for arguments sake.

Not at all. You just missed it.

I was arguing for the sake of flirting.

I love you LV but you need a filter. You're going to cause unnecessary worry. This thread could just be deleted or bumped into the new subforum as a sort of reminder to everyone that this was a serious discussion.

The last thing any member of this forum wants to do is make Seth look bad.

just delete it. Or move it. As long as we have no evidence of this subforum. Seth does not even want to make it appear we have a section like that.

I don't really like going outside.
It's too damn "peopley" out there....

I usually do read before posting, but I shouldn't even have spent the time to write what I just did because my time is too tight - came here on a work break and spent more time than my break because the subject is TOO IMPORTANT. So read it if you care about Seth and his website.

Fuck that pissed me off!!!!

Ok I did read it and it became obvious that you don't know what is being discussed thus rendering your opinion irrelevant to the actual conversation. What you are talking about is not what is being discussed and had you read the thread you would know this.
Then you missed my point and that was probably my fault, but thanks for reading it. In my hurry to post in brief time, my post probably came off with too much emphasis on the porn. But that wasn't what I was mainly talking about. I was talking about anything "adult" that has to be closed to those under 18 years of age. (And porn was being discussed by some people anyway - I did skim a lot of the thread while not reading it in its entirety.)

I'm aware of the Sexy Banter thread and that's what this is really about, but I don't see why we need that here. If you reread what I said about the controversial subjects (and note I did include "adult discussions" which doesn't have to mean X-rated) the point I was making still stands in my mind.

I see Seth has set forth his guidelines now so I guess this is irrelevant at this point. But I'm guessing he would rather have never been asked in the first place. He probably compromised as opposed to out-rightly saying "no" because he tries to be as accommodating as possible. That's to his credit. But I still say, since it's questionable in the first place, why do we really need any of this here? Why take any chance on tainting a very important subject when the risk has nothing to do with atheism. That was my point.

I am not accountable to any God. I am accountable to myself - and not because I think I am God as some theists would try to assert - but because, no matter what actions I take, thoughts I think, or words I utter, I have to be able to live with myself.

Or you could stay out of conversations when you have no dog in the fight... That's what confused this thread so damn much. People with no interest in discussing adult topics getting all pissy about people that DO want to discuss such topics.

If you look at the posts of the people who actually post in the SBT, the majority of us came to a basic consensus that "no porn" was perfectly fine. You know, those of us who care about the thread and would like to see it continue, although in a more responsible manner. Then people with no interest in posting in such a place decided to come here and muck up the conversation. Seriously, if you have no interest, you have no say. It's Seth's forum and he has final word no matter what anyone else thinks. If this thread had been us asking for our own section and those that didn't care stayed the hell out of it, this would have been resolved 30 pages ago.

why do we need a casual coffeehouse? Why do we need a mafia subsection? Why do we need a food section? Why do we need a gaming section? Why do we need a PIAS section? Why do we need a shoutbox? Why do we need smileys? Because there is a demand for it,that's why

Well, I can see where general forum members might want to have input on whether or not the forum (at large) has a sexy, on-going thread. I can see that.
BUT
As you say - in all reality if it's not a thread someone wants to participate in then they *could* just skip it as they've probably already been doing.

as soon as our sexy banter can be private- members-only-club for regulars (aka NOT newbies and NOT trolls and NOT people who've not proven they're not here Just for sake of sexy banter)........ we can get on with it. Those uninterested who won't BE members of the sexy club shouldn't even have it ROLL out on their list of topics.

Members only is the only way to keep everyone happy and keep the general topic list under 18, squeaky clean and no issues.
