I didn't mention earlier another of my favorites, from a completely different approach to art, Wasily Kandinsky:

Several Circles:

Classics are something that I like:

Raphael: The School of Athens

Michelangelo Buonarroti: Creation of Adam

Sandro Botticelli: The Birth of Venus

The first revolt is against the supreme tyranny of theology, of the phantom of God. As long as we have a master in heaven, we will be slaves on earth.

How is it that so many Adams were/are the pinnacle of their craft?

Ansel - photography
Scott - office humor
Don - TV sitcom
Samuel - Statesman, brewmeister
Walter - Astronomer
Douglas - humorist, writer

Kinda freaky, eh??

There's some really great perspective work in all those examples, Szuchow.

That's another thing that irritates me about the rise of Christianity. Not only was scientific knowledge lost but perspective knowledge and the ability to render the human face in art work, which the Romans were starting to figure out, also was lost along with the ability to sculpt the human body.

It went from this, a fresco from Pompeii with the beginnings of some nice modeling of the face.

To this piece of shit fresco from the 11th century. I mean, what the hell people? Geesh!

Anyway, artist's perspective finally returned after more than 1000 years.

Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors.... on Donald J. Trump:

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

RE: Art That You Like
Something I've always wondered about artists.........

Do they consider others craft to be inferior to their own????

Does a painter consider a photographer a mere technician?

Does a sculptor consider a painter to be "two dimensional"???

Do you feel there's a hierarchy of artistic ability???

Do singers out-gun pianists??? Are guitarists more talented than mimes????

wonder, wonder......

They're all batshit bonkers. Like HoC.
