I have hydrocephalus. The excess spinal fluid from the hydrocephalus pressed down on the nerves in my eyes and damaged them irreparably. My vision started going when I was 13 but it got to this point it is now at 17.

RE: Ask a Blind Girl!
Have you worked on the superpower of echolocation? Some completely blind people have mastered it, even outside with noise distractions, and I think that's pretty awesome. I like my vision, but I wish I could have that skill.

I've tried it to help with walking in total darkness, but my ability is limited to finding walls and large nearby objects like tables, in a house. It's useful enough that I can at least avoid stubbing my toe while finding a light switch.

Now, if I could navigate a maze like that one guy...

If something can be destroyed by the truth, it might be worth destroying.

That's what the cane is for it help feel out vibrations and touch objects before I do. It's mostly about hearing and smell, I know a guy who went blind from a car accident and lost his sense of smell too it's been awful for him.
