Rainbow Ask a (GASP) CHINESE COMMUNIST ! ! !
Come one, come all. A panda in the free world... A CHINESE COMMUNIST here glad to talk.

Before we start, here are some announcements and rules.

[1] Authenticity guaranteed. I am a formal member of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) which means that I am a genuine communist.

[2] Purpose clarification.I live in mainland China and am a newcomer here. Therefore I'd like to meet folks around and let guys know something about me, my hometown and my homeland.

[3] Information ONLY, NO sarcasm, NO quarrels. I am here to provide information from a junior communist and a Chinese citizen perspective if you are INTERESTED and ask a question. I am here NOT to offend anyone, nor to take offence at any prejudiced commentary.

[4] Keep calm and easy. The same reason why you post a thread on the forum, I also want to be liked by you guys. Meanwhile you might satisfy your thirst for interesting news from this thread. So let's do it the harmonious way, OK?

Want something? Then do something.

RE: Ask a (GASP) COMMUNIST ! ! !
I'm just popping in to say, hello.

And: This ought to be interesting.

If I can think of a question, I might just be back.

A single action is worth more than the words it takes to describe it.

Everyone likes to bang on about China's human rights record etc. Do you think it's all propaganda, or is it true that China is an authoritarian state ?

And...

What's the deal with Tibet ? From what I've heard you guys went in there and beat everyone up and took their stuff ? Am I misinformed ?

RE: Ask a (GASP) COMMUNIST ! ! !
Question: How do I get a job there?

Question: The Chinese girls in Singapore think that Guangzhou province produces the hottest chicks? Do you agree?

Question: When I read news reports of protests in China regarding e.g. pollution and working conditions, it reminds me of the class struggle that happened in the UK during the Industrial Revolution. Do you think that a similar thing is happening in China currently?

Are you a member because you want to or because you have to? (Before communism collapsed in my country, people usually had no choice whether to join or not, once someone "recommended" you, it was pretty much a done deal. And once you reached a certain position - didn't even have to be a very high one - you were always recommended).

You've gotta be better than our current "communist."

I guess my question is do you think the Chinese government is truly "communist?"

The Truth About Tibet and Dalai Lama
http://www.4thmedia.org/2013/02/28/the-t...alai-lama/

written by a Finnish scholar.

Tibet first. Tibet is direct west to my province. If you are very serious when you wrote "beat everyone up and took their stuff", then I am very glad you finally can hear something different. Please use common sense: for a nation whose crude steel output is greater than the rest of the world combined, how much of GDP can behaving like this generate? Chinese and Westerners alike are human beings, and we all interested in benefits.

So yes, you are quite misinformed about this. It is against almost everything I know about Tibet. It really sounds like what warlords in Medieval Ages would do.

About human rights record. Very interestingly you used a phrase "everyone likes", which doesn't sound like much unbiased and a lot of use of rationing. So as you suspect, 80% of the so called human rights issues were just propaganda. The rest 20% is improving.

As to the authoritarian topic, I prefer the word centralism, which is an appropriate way of governing a country nearly the same size as U.S. yet with a population five times larger. In 1979 when U.S. President Jimmy Carter met with Vice-premier DENG Xiaoping for third time on the subject of immigration issues, Mr. Carter complained that there should be more freedom for the Chinese people, Mr. Deng said "How many do you want? How about 10 million every year?" How about it now?

Normally online application first, followed by telephone or on-the-spot interview. If you out vie your competitors and meet the requirements, then congratulations, you've got a job.

Girls in my province are more delicate because the basin where we live in provides more moisture hence better sink for the girls.

Conflicts of interests is inevitable. Very wealthy people have already emerged in large numbers. And they seem more interested in accumulating more wealth rather than what General Secretary DENG Xiaoping planned which was to achieve common prosperity. They demand more freedom and power, interestingly, in the name of human rights. Fortunately their greed are still kept in cages. I anticipate a prompt and in-depth reform and hope for no revolution.

RE: Ask a (GASP) COMMUNIST ! ! !
Hmm... I apologise, I think you misunderstood me. I use colourful phrasing routinely... obviously I don't think the invasion of Tibet was just about stealing from a bunch of yak-herders Wink

You have told me that I am misinformed, but you haven't offered me an alternative version of events, what actually was the invasion about and why did it happen? In the West, as you are no doubt aware, it is a very talked about thing, the allegation is that China invaded a sovereign nation and is now occupying their territory without the consent of the people living there. Lots of liberal flower-in-their-hair types like to make grand statements like "free Tibet!!! " and so on, are they *wrong* to do this? How do you answer the critics who say you guys should leave Tibetans to their own devices ?

As a side note, I read an article a while ago which said that many, perhaps most Tibetans would now not want to split with China...

Also please note I have no real stake in this. I haven't met anyone from Tibet, I have no Tibetan friends. I'm just interested to know what you think about it. Basically you said "ask a communist" so I thought I'd give you an awkward question to deal with Wink

I became a member after submitting an application voluntarily, going through several Party lectures and a 6-month observation period.

If a person is a pretty good college student or a elite in corporations, it's more likely that a senior Party member would likely come by and encourages he/she to become one of them. It's more like recruiting, even a little preaching, instead of mandatory appointment.
