Welcome Hu!

Pardon if the question has been asked before... I honestly couldn't read all the posts/replies yet, but look forward to reading them... Yes ...how do you get through the whole internent censorship? I used to do it abit when I was in high school tricking the internet nanny programs so I could get to my favorite sites, but I think yours would be slightly more heavy-duty. And when I say 'slightly', I mean butt-hurt.

Have a good one,

CTS

Junyuan, earlier you said your mother (?) needed to be re-educated. Can you describe this process to us?

(not for the first time that I'm perplexed / confused / addled by the Chinese propensity for poetic phrases)

I am lost too.

What do you mean by "interesting, yet again, to see the correlation between wish-thinking and fear / uncertainty about the future" ?

And what do you mean by "Chinese propensity for poetic phrases"? Any quote?

I just meant that there is an obvious link between fear of the unknown and wishful-thinking / irrational belief, or as you put it "But when things get tough, the memories of past sufferings come to live vividly and drive people crazy snapping up anything they can get. Elders have profound memories of hardships, therefore are more deeply influenced by such instinct."

And you responded with something about "iron and steel" so I thought you were being poetic.

Example of poetic language... I once asked my Hokkien-speaking flatmate to translate something she had said when she met one of my younger girlfriends and she said there was no literal translation to English but it was something like "old cows like to chew young grass". Thing is, she had only used a word of two syllables in her native tongue.

Dear HU.Junyuan,

According to what you have said, the Chinese Real Estate bubble is even more serious than I thought. Does China have a plan to rid itself of the Real Estate Bubble?

Thanks.

Hehehe. You wish.

They don't need to invade, they are just slowly buying the place.

Yes
