From primitive communism to helot-ism to feudalism to capitalism to national capitalism (a.k.a. socialism junior stage), we can clearly see that humankind as a whole have become better enlightened and civilized. History told us that communism can not be forced and requires much higher quality. I don't know what these requirements exactly are. I can only use what I now know to approximate them.

As for automation, it's already a unstoppable trend and that's why I am using it now. To reach communism, I think inter-galactic FTL travelling, AI capable of accomplishing what we now can do, and much advanced robotics are going to be among the pre-requisites.

RE: Ask a (GASP) COMMUNIST ! ! !
Is not a communist government simply a country run by a single corporation--the ultimate monopoly with the citizens as shareholders? It would seem to me the welfare of the people would depend solely on the altruism of the CEO and the board of directors; and if this corporation is run by the same type of sociopaths as run corporations in capitalist systems, well... And all this is made worse by the fact that this corporation also owns all the nation's weapons and controls its military, who will of course be taught loyalty to their commanders and their government above their loyalty to their countrymen.

Communism seems like it would take a funny sort of optimism.

E 2 = (mc 2)2 + (pc )2
614C → 714N + e + ̅νe
2 K(s) + 2 H2O(l) → 2 KOH(aq) + H2 (g) + 196 kJ/mol
It works, bitches.

How do the Chinese perceive North Korea and do you think China will "interfere" if NK attacks South Korea or launches against any other country including US territories?

Many Chinese concerned about this issue consider it as troublesome. Yet China herself succeeded in boosting her global image and improving her international environment during the 1960's atomic bomb and H-bomb programs. What sternly accusations can we make?

China has already intervened. During a foreign ministry press conference this month, a spokeswoman said that China would vote in favor of sanctions against NK nuclear tests. I believe we will do more.

I really don't like it when things turned so ugly. Unfortunately, might is right, that's what is also deep in our veins.

A little broader than what I expected. I'm curious as to why FTL is needed.
Speaking of which.

FTL Travel.

I suspect a bit of touchiness in that post. I apologize if I was coming off as offensive. That was meant as a joke ( and obviously a bad one at that). If there's one person who needs a lot to learn about culture. It would be me.Confused

I would still suggest that movie though. It's a good one in my book.Smile

Communism seems like it would take a funny sort of optimism.

After the fall of U.S.S.R and many other eastern European communist countries, we know that communism is like heaven, indeed takes huge amounts of optimism, who knows when it will arrive.

When comparing China's communism, OK, China's primary stage of socialism, alright, China's national capitalism to a monopoly corporation, please keep in mind that while a monopoly chairman of the board of directors has lawful support at his back, Chinese political leaders to a greater extent depend on those who support them. This is more of a story of bureaucracy evolution. It's more of a story of interest exchange and game. But sure enough, they will have to abide by the rules on the desktop, written laws and unwritten do's and don'ts.

Because of the scarcity of habitable planets for humans in this galaxy.

Why do people assume that I'm some sort of delicate flower who gets her knickers in a twist at the slightest provocation? (Rhetorical question, no answer required from anyone, thank you very much Dodgy )

Is just that I'm quite certain we have different ideas of culture, which is only natural, if culture isn't subjective, I don't know what is. (For the record, not a Coen bros fan, myself.)

RE: Ask a (GASP) COMMUNIST ! ! !
You say China is a communist country yet this is a bit of stretch.
How do you feel about the 'rise of china' being a direct result of globalization aka trade in international markets aka capitalism.
It is safe to say that China would not have risen to its current day 'power' without capitalism.

Also, in true communism everyone is equal, everything is shared etc... Do you feel you are equal to the top dogs in your government? Is the lowly peasant in rural China equal to Mr Top Dog?
If not then how successful would you rate China's communism if it hasn't fulfilled what communism is?
