Yes, if they lie.

Not anymore. I trust their words.

(16-01-2014 02:32 PM)morondog Wrote:  You are trusting these unknown guys with a lot... what makes them so deserving of your trust ?
First, Spirit testifies to me that their words are true. I trust His(Spirit's) testimony.
Second, modern Prophets testify it is true. They are also witnesses of God. Why do I trust them? I know their fruits. Their fruits are good. Honesty and integrity are few of them. And Spirit testifies to me about them.

How could you so easily give up your own mind to let other humans tell you what to think and do? And what evidence do you have that any of what you said is true? People suffering from schizophrenia think the voices they hear (maybe a spirit giving testimony...) are real, but that doesn't make it so. I was a fundy xtian for years, and said all the same sort of bullshit, but since breaking away more than 5 years ago, I realize their was no god confirming anything to me, just my own confirmation bias. I wanted to believe it and so I convinced myself it was true. Only it wasn't. And neither is the doctrine of the LDS. Or JW. Or Scientology. Or Judaism. Or Islam. Or Hinduism. Or Zoroastrianism. Or ... Well, I assume you get the point.

Even though you are not a racist the core ideology which is the foundation of your religion is awfully racist.
What is this core ideology?

Taq isn't racist.
And I don't think you "mean to be" racist Alla........as much as you've blindly accepted a system upon which to build your life which includes some racism.

When I want your opinion I'll read your entrails.

WitchSabrina, I don't see that God's/LDS Doctrine includes racism. But I agree that some people may find it racist.

RE: Ask a Mormon
How does one determine if a prophet is a false one or the real deal? Is there a choice to accept a prophets teachings or is it beyond a members control?

“Truth does not demand belief. Scientists do not join hands every Sunday, singing, yes, gravity is real! I will have faith! I will be strong! I believe in my heart that what goes up, up, up, must come down, down, down. Amen! If they did, we would think they were pretty insecure about it.”

Jesus said that by the fruits we may know who is true prophet and who is false prophet.
We also can know if Spirit testifies us personally.

I may reject prophet's teachings if I know that they are not true.
But if I do not know if they(teachings) are true or false then I just trust the prophets. I have reasons to trust them so far.

To myself, "by the fruits" seems like a vague method of confirmation for a prophet of GOD. Plenty of good people have had fruitful lives helping others and the world around them - can any of them claim to be a prophet?

Have you yourself ever made the determination that a church appointed prophet was not true prophet?
