RE: Ask a Theist!
Will you be attending church this Sunday? What do you do at church? Will you be taking your children?

And you'll be praying to god, communing with god, worshiping god and singing the praises of god, per usual?

Yes.

But this happens everyday. Church isn't a special occasion.

Mainly religious simply because of the type of community I live in. Southern LA is very Baptist.

Although, on of my good friends is a gay atheist from Boston.

Do you love your wife, or did God make you love her?

More or less, I am asking how you deal with the devalueing of emotions such as love.

So, did you choose your wife to love, or did God make you love her.

Would it be a safe to say that becoming an atheist would mean social suicide for you? Consider

It's possible.

I'm not a very social person, anyway. So, I don't have any close friends. I prefer to be in the background most of the time.

If God is truly omnipotent, then God chose that for me. That doesn't mean that I don't love her; it's just that He was the engine that controlled the love.

Don't really see how that is any different from non-believers who believe (which is true in science) that the brain controls the love emotion.

I just believe that is one more level - God. And, He controls and preplanned all of it.
