Actually, it makes sense in that context. I understood it all, though I still disagree with his being rich as metaphor - to assume it is (without Jesus stating as much) means you could assume that Jesus "healing blind men" is the same as "giving hobos a minute of his attention". But if that's our presupposition, then everything you said is quite logical.

Thanks for your answer.

I like you.

It's nice to see love blossom like this.

Technically, I'm still ordained and legal to officiate weddings.

Hmmm, I wonder if Stark could sticky this? That way, I can always sprinkle my Christian Dust on every new atheist that comes to the forum.

I think God, if he exists, is some extra-dimensional scientist, and we are his test subjects/creation.

So, is it true to say that faith, and ONLY faith is the path to God?

I love this quote from the Mothman Prophecies (since you implied that God is hiding stuff from us instead of telling us His intentions).

Man 1: (when talking about the Mothman) If it's so advanced, why doesn't it just explain itself to us.
Man 2: You're more advanced than a cockroach; have you ever tried to explain yourself to one.

Indeed, using the analogy above, God is technically more advanced than us, as we are more advanced than cockroaches. However, consider that God is our creator (assuming what the Bible says is true), but that we are not creators of cockroaches. Furthermore, we as human beings have an inherent curiousity and we actively desire answers from our creator, to answer our burning questions and help us with our problems. God is omnipresent and omniscient, and surely he should be able to understand our desire to know, or at least tell us why he is doing all the "hiding".

Thank you Smile You are one quick responder!

Those are indeed good points. And, as I've stated, I could never know why God does this or that or even hide stuff from us. But, I will continue to try and answer y'all as honestly and completely as I know how.

And, you're very welcome.

We are the enabler of the cockroach. The "dominion" given unto Adam has been fortified by taxonomy. I got cockroaches. Do you understand where we fit in their grand scheme?

Because if you cannot count to 5.13x10^61, you're not even ready to tackle the infinite, never mind the omni. Is god hiding? God doesn't hide from KC, god doesn't hide from me; an atheistic way tho translate this would be duality - the universe within/the universe without. This is the only multiverse that makes any sense; each of us a universe.

Do you know you, as the universe? Are you sure, you're ready to question the universe of universes? You might only get one shot. Wink

Hmm, maybe his "simple" way, in our point of view, is "complicated". Like how cockroaches do not understand why we are so bent on killing them. They may view us as sadistic destroyers of the world they "live and protect"

Anyway... I think I may get this as an answer.

Many of the other things that are considered "immoral" in the Christian community may get a shrug or at worst a tsk tsk tsk. Honestly, my stance on homosexuals shouldn't be surprising since you know my stance on sin.
I know a lot of people who're really nice up until you say homosexual... then their face changes, they look slightly embarrassed, a bit aggressive. They say "I think it's wrong, it's a SIN, it says so in the Bible." Some of my best friends have this attitude. It's a weak point for many Christians I think. So I wanted to be sure...

That dang Gwynnies, I can't even kill them things... chase 'em out of my food, escort 'em off the microwave tray - gross, huh? Tongue

Part of the reason, is there ain't no point until next door gets fixed up. I hit 'em with a gallon of gunk last time, I almost got killed, but they came back - with friends. And that 42 comes up a lot.

I don't think we need a numerology thread from the Setian, just now. Wink

I'll buy into this preposterous cockroach analogy when you demonstrate that cockroaches are intelligent and self-aware.

Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
