Did you read the Majjhima Nikaya? The Samyutta Nikaya? If not, what (if any) Buddhist texts did you read?

RE: Ask a Theist!
Due to recent events, I'm not talking about my Christianity any more. I think it's the best decision for the time being. Sorry to those people who had questions I didn't get to.

Damn. I hope everything is going well (or gets better if it's not).

Edit: I just read the other thread. I hope it all works out.

So.

Questions?

Maybe I can be of more service than the trolling "Christian" Poes that are mucking up the forum at the present time.

I know you are not a biblical literalist so by what metric do you determine which parts of the bible are true and which are false?

Context, historicity, audience, and language

ex:

ANE writings and stories are a vastly different type of literature than a letter being written to a church during the first century; likewise, the stylistic apocalyptic writing is a vastly different way of communicating than simply noting events.

Ok so given that you consider much of the old testament to be myth (or however you want to phrase it) how much of the new testament do you consider to be non-historical?

Non-historical as in "made up" or "propaganda"?
