Missed me! Tongue

I don't know what's worse- one big kerbang or a host of little ones, if we were to fragment an incoming asteroid. Guess I'll pick the light show with most sparks...

I've had that thought.

It scared me so I stopped thinking about it.

That's pretty close.. half the distance of to the moon....

At 65 feet in length, it would not have done much than make a pretty fireball entering the atmosphere.

That's why only the Tech Times covered it. No danger whatsoever.

RE: Asteroid Almost Got Us.....
meh

Just a wee pup and barely moving. Hardly a threat unless its composition and entry angle were just right.

Bigger and better wander past all the time, they're just usually a good distance out and detected well in advance. Just this month we are scheduled for:

2002 LS32 on January 24th. 1.0 km in diameter and missing by 53.9 Lundar Distances
1991 VK Jan. 25 1.9 km wide at 25.2 LD
2000 WN107 Jan. 26 2.8 km at 62.3 LD

Looking at those dates I see that SMOD is still trying to win the election.

RE: Asteroid Almost Got Us.....
Asteroids could collide with earth all the time. Thanks to gravity, they don't. Not the big horrible ones anyway. Most of that stuff burns up after hitting our atmosphere.
But I have lived with the knowledge, that it could realistically happen at any time, since I was 14 and read about it in an astronomy book.

I just don't feel that being afraid makes a big change so I am not afraid. So much can happen and end us in a split second. An asteroid would be the most epic way and much cooler than deceases or such. I think the only thing cooler than an asteroid to end humanity would be an actual zombie apocalypse Wink

Why Detroit and not Appalachia?

Because Appalachia already got blasted:

Let it hit Drumpf.

Detroit looks bad enough already.
