They do indeed have a lot of courage. To be able to stand up to the most ignorant and violent and religiously intolerant country on the planet and dare to tell them that they do not believe in the same thing they do.

Bravo! I hope it is a sign of change for the future.

My Youtube channel if anyone is interested.

Something a lot of outspoken religious people spout in the West, is that atheists want to take away their religious freedom...

They forget that the rights that allow them to be Christians, Jews, Muslims or whatever, are exactly the same rights that allow us to opt out of religion.

Its good to know I have the right, to be an atheist... But its also good to know I can change my mind at any time, and as many times as I like.

One of the comments (from the second link)....

"This is throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Your consideration of the huge field of religion is reductive. There is much that is good in it. I am not speaking of Islam in particular, which I find disgusting and absurd. But I am speaking of many good things you might find in most all religions. Without relgion, there is not much that is interesting in history. "

All I can say is.... HoboHoboHobo

Humankind Dodgy (a total misnomer)

Exclamation RE: Atheism in middle east
The "middle east" was partly and moving towards secularism, and democracy.

Until certain countries started toppling democratic and secular governments (Afghanistan was secular. Iran was a parliamentary democracy) - then arming radical zealots to tear down countries, if not outright invading and bombing - then installing dictatorships to control those countries. And lets not even start with Israel.... People have died in the millions, millions more displaced, millions impoverished, millions angry. From Egypt, to Pakistan - the countries you are "lucky" to live in are the ones responsible. Change starts at home.
