Killing religious infections everywhere.

Don't kid yourself. That in itself solves nothing. People would just look for another flag to rally behind.

Atheism isn't penicilin. It's rather aspirin, covering some of the symptoms. People growing some empathy and less exclusivness would be a real remedy against the world as it presents itself today.

Without a definition, it's hard to even know what is being discussed, or questioned, exactly. If they asked self-identified Christians, "Is God *love*", (which one hears all the time these days), and they reply "yes", then what are we even talking about here ? Certainly not traditional notions of a deity.

true. true.

If someone created a chocolate god, I would rally behind that.

Agree, the study was clever.
It's like asking "Did you vote for Trump ?" or "Are you going to vote for Trump?" in some places. In some places no one would admit it. Same thing for "Do you believe in God ?". It's not PC to say "no".

That's why surveys usually are shit. People tend to say what the believe the other one wants to hear. Very few will be admitting to radical ideologies.
