Atheist in the Public
We hear all about religious people in the public, from door to door JW to people freaking out about "Happy Holidays". But I would like to put forward stories about people you've dealt with who, meaning to or not, shown that they are just as tired as you are of religion.

My example happened when I went to the bank to pay bills. I had just watched a thing about the tower of babel in genesis, and how it related to ancient civilization. When I started the conversation with, "I just watched a thing about the book of genesis". With those word, I saw the eyes of the girl at the desk, just glaze over. The look you get when someone just want you to shut up, but they aren't irritated enough to say so. As I went on to the ancient civilization and science, and her eyes light up. I have never been so proud.

Moral of the story... there are better ways to chat up bank tellers.

Drinking Beverage

I get the occasional "Yes!" when I say something anti-religious during my courses.

My cockles get warm.

SSSsssshhhhhhhh we are all not meant to know. You will cause a paradox, the forum will collapse.

For no matter how much I use these symbols, to describe symptoms of my existence.
You are your own emphasis.
So I say nothing.

Basically, yes. We're a lot like the ghosts in 6th Sense that don't know they're dead.

As for the topic of the thread, sadly, I don't have much. I have plenty of stories of the opposite, which is kinda sad.

The gal that owns a bar that I frequent and I were talking about JW's coming to the door, and she said that she tells em that shes a 'lesbian atheist' . Made me feel good, although I didnt ask her if she was an atheist.... I know shes not a lesbian tho.

Religious activism in my country is almoust impossible.

Religion or non-religious is seen as a private matter here and to be an activist for conversion or deconversion would be seen as the intrusion into someones private life and therefor as rude.
