Is the troll gone?

Of course not.

He never goes away. Even when he promises to.

How do you know that you are not schizophrenic?

I don't have the signs or symptoms of schizophrenia, or any psychosis for that matter.

What you have is Narcissistic Personality Disorder and delusional, magical thinking.

I couldn’t understand what he was saying so I looked up the lyrics,

“Sturgill says most people don’t get what this song is about: “it’s about drugs”. After he plays the song he adds a story about his friend asking him about DMT and if he’s ever tried it, possibly hinting at the origins of this song’s inspiration.”

Interesting shit right there G-man. Thumbsup

Turtles All The Way Down LYRICS

Sturgill Simpson

I've seen Jesus play with flames
In a lake of fire that I was standing in
Met the devil in Seattle
And spent 9 months inside the lions den
Met Buddha yet another time
And he showed me a glowing light within
But I swear that God is there
Every time I glare in the eyes of my best friend

Says my son, "It's all been done
And someday you're gonna wake up old and gray
So go and try to have some fun
Showing warmth to everyone
You meet and greet and cheat along the way"

There's a gateway in our minds
That leads somewhere out there, far beyond this plane
Where reptile aliens made of light
Cut you open and pull out all your pain
Tell me how you make illegal
Something that we all make in our brain
Some say you might go crazy
But then again it might make you go sane

Every time I take a look
Inside inside that old and fabled book
I'm blinded and reminded of
The pain caused by some old man in the sky
Marijuana, LSD
Psilocybin, and DMT
They all changed the way I see
But love's the only thing that ever saved my life

So don't waste your mind on nursery rhymes
Or fairy tales of blood and wine
It's turtles all the way down the line
So to each their own 'til we go home
To other realms our souls must roam
To and through the myth that we all call space and time

Is it just like how God hardened Pharaoh's heart? If so, then blame God for making us atheists.

(14-12-2014 12:45 AM)Gordon Wrote:  Then you turn toward championing homosexuality, and then you deteriorate even further and further into praising misogynistic themes, and then to sick and ugly forms of sexuality, and then down to a lot of references to feces. You start to post pictures of people defecating or pictures of feces in toilets, etc. What the fuck? Is nothing human left?

Its actually God of the Bible who is misogynistic

Quote:"Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee." (Genesis 3:16)

and has fecal fetish.

Quote:"And thou shalt eat it as barley cakes, and thou shalt bake it with dung that cometh out of man" (Ezekiel 4:12)

"Behold, I will corrupt your seed, and spread dung upon your faces" (Malachi 2:3)

Quote:Recently, in many atheist forums, there’ve been a lot of pornographic references to Jesus Christ (second coming seems to be a favorite)--as if he ever did anything bad to you. He fucking died on a cross for the salvation of your souls. I suppose you're wondering what's he done for you lately. Facepalm

source needed. (apart from the bible)

Quote:This is the effect of atheism on one's mind. It starts out as a liberating mental moral exercise as you reject formal religion, but everything deteriorates from there as the implications of atheism take hold.

No God=No authority=no mandate for morality=freedom=hedonism=dissatisfaction with physical life=hopelessness=psychological defenses=madness.

I would argue that Christianity is the immoral position.

Think about it, every time you say "you're going to hell," you're telling the other person that they'll be burned and tortured alive forever. That's fucked up.

God still loves everyone, though. Right?

Quote:Come away from it, people. For the love of God; for the love of yourselves. Turn and be saved.

Which God, Anubis? Amaterasu? Thor? How do we know Yahweh is the real God? (again, I'm not going to count bible as a reliable source as it relies on circular reasoning)

Quote:Here, listen to this pretty, nerdy, Catholic girl and her beautiful talented song. Audrey Assad. If this doesn't make you feel something spiritual--I mean fucking anything--you just can't feel anymore. And that's the ABC's of atheism.

no.

RE: Atheistic Derangement: The Shit Does Happen
The thing I absolutely love about you Gordon is that ultimately you're going to lose.
You might be one of the craziest motherfuckers out there but at the end of the day it's all meaningless. We're still atheists and you're still batshit cray-cray. And when you die nobody will care about Verublahblahism and absolutely nothing will come of it.
Nobody will read your books and nobody will follow your word/teachings and your made up religion will wither and die. This will mean that your whole life, the only one life you have, would have been completely wasted on a pointless and fruitless endeavor.

You're wasting your life Gordon and this is exactly why I like you. Because ultimately you lose. Atheism will continue to rise, religion will continue to fall and the homo's will continue to butt fuck eachother. Game over, we win. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.

Due to the ever increasing cost of living, I think the minimum pay for passing go should be raised to $1000. Tongue

Uh...no. Unsure

Quote:Delusions of discussion between yourself and an outside entity? It's pretty clear you suffer delusions of grandeur.

When did I ever say that God talking to me made me better than you? The flip side of that coin is that God really wants to talk to you, too. So there's no "grandeur" to be had. It's not about any delusion of grandeur on my part, it's about your low self-esteem seeing it that way.

Quote:And if I recall, it's been found that a decent portion of schizophrenics do suffer religious delusions and those that do tend to appear more seriously ill than their fellow patients who do not exhibit such symptoms...

A lot have what is called "hyper-religiosity" but that's not the same thing as being religious. It doesn't look the same, and it has nothing whatsoever to do with faith or God.

Quote:You may not be schizophrenic, but your own statements suggest some form of psychosis.

Well, assuming I am completely wrong in what I'm saying to you, then there would certainly be some delusions--if I'm wrong. Because if I'm not wrong, then your opinion is 180 degrees out. But delusions alone do not psychosis make. Everyone has delusions. Atheism is a delusion. In fact, most forms of free thought could be considered a delusional experience. If you believe something you can't prove, then that is on the continuum of delusional experience. In psychiatry symptoms always have to be weighed against the impact those symptoms are having on one's life. That's why Joan of Arc is a saint and not a schizophrenic.

You have to realize that there is a vast diversity in the way people think. It's only if their GAF is low as a result. GAF is one's "Global Assessment of Functioning." If I'm deluded, that's not mental illness. If I'm deluded and so I stop taking baths because I'm sure God wants me to avoid bathing, then I'm mentally ill.

Quote:Isn't religious obsession (oft referred to as 'hyper-religiosity') usually seen as an indicator of mental illness?

Hyper-religiosity is a kind of manic paranoia that includes obsessions and compulsions of a religious nature. A good example would be a patient I once had who insisted on carrying a bible around opened to a certain passage and if it wasn't with him and opened to that passage, he became very anxious and distressed. He was obsessed that a bad thing would happen if he didn't carry his Bible in that manner. He also believed demons were talking to him and telling him to hurt himself. That's hyper-religiosity.

If a person says they are the reincarnation of Jesus Christ, for instance, that in itself is not hyper-religiosity. That may just be a delusion (again, assuming it's not true). And everyone has lots of different delusions in their mental repertoire.

Quote:Also; while religious obsession has produced some allegedly 'great' people, it's also made a metric fucktonne of people who are as close to monsters as they come.

Yep. Two sides of the same coin. Sometimes it's the same side. Joan of Arc killed and led in the killing of a lot of human beings. So, if you were an English soldier in the 1400's. You may not have considered her a saint.
