So I'm looking at the etymology of "atheist" and it appears to come from the Greek atheos, a- "without" + theos "god". Defined this way as "without god" I am clearly not an atheist since I AM God. ... bitches.

But there is no requirement for an atheist to belong to a religious organisation. In fact most atheists don't.

Thought I would take a moment to ask a little more about what you stated, Stevil.

Do you think the "atheist church" phenomenon is growing?

Yes, it is true that there is no requirement for atheists to belong to an organization. But in Protestantism, there is not really a push to belong to an organization either. Sure, there is the peer pressure to join some cliquish Baptist, Methodist, or Pentecostal community. But, of course, that pressure is nothing like the Catholic Church--which makes Mass attendance a requirement. If you do not attend Mass on Sunday, you have mortally sinned.

Many non-Catholic Christians do not even attend Church. If they do, it is only for some kind of a special reason.

But again, I was comparing atheism to Protestant Christians earlier.

Would you, therefore, not consider Suscipe Domine and other Christian themed forums as religious organizations?

RE: Atheists are religious, Atheism is a religion
So now the logic goes:
Protestants aren't required to join a church/religious organisation
Neither are atheists
Therefore atheism is a religion

Suscipe Domine is a Christian forum
Wouldn't you consider it to be a religious organisation?
Therefore TTA is a religious organisation

Well of course, because just looking at the definition of "religion" and comparing that to "atheism" didn't get him the answer he wanted.
