I've died a couple of times.

There's nothing.

Grow up.

I will call him a liar and a dog here and now.

And where these people self identifying atheists, likely then atheists who grew up in a christian or western culture for these reports or no? Seems like the case which is an influencing factor into people.

Having had the experience of being near death I had no near death experiences!

Before comming to any conclusions about these "atheists" who saw Jesus or whatever I would need an in depth analysis of their upbringing and life experiences, of all the factors that made them who and what they are.

Then subject them to psychological testing for gullibility and compare with a ref sample.

A good look at their parents' lives might be informative as well.

Tomorrow is precious, don't ruin it by fouling up today.

I don't know why this keeps coming up as an argument. It is so simple. You realize that you might be dying.

Oh shit, you think, and pieces of your life come to mind, unfinished business, important memories....

Nothing of help there, so your faithful brain pulls all files it has that refer to death.

If raised around Christians, you're going to see what they kept telling you. Same for people from regions with other faiths - they will see whatever. You are also going to see uncle Bert, died 7 years ago in accident, gramma, grampa, and whoever else died whom you knew.

Meanwhile your brain starts misfiring and you see bright flashes....

There's a reason it's called a NEAR death experience. They're not dead. Call me when you bring someone back who's been dead and buried for a month.

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

Probably because endorphins aren't necessarily the only chemical released in the brain during NDEs, and no one has claimed endorphins are the only chemical released during NDEs, so you're attacking a straw man. That was easy. Next question.

on the Near-Death experience website, there was a study done on NDEs using 50 people from different faiths. Atheists were also interviewed. According to the website, of the 50 atheists:

50% of atheists saw Jesus
50% of atheists experienced a feeling of fear
and 50% reported experiencing or seeing hell.

Many people would probably say that the reason for this is that these atheists could have grown up in Christian communities where hell was talked about. However, there are also people who claim that most NDEs are positive as a result of chemicals released in the brain. Why exactly is it then, that hell is experienced at all if the endorphins in the brain are supposed to make one feel good?

Posting the same thread twice? Are you a spammer? Do you think we're stupid and won't notice the same thread being posted twice?
