I cut it down to barely doing anything. I'm seriously thinking it's not the bike but something else.

I agree with MD, it would probably be a good idea to get it checked out.

Not a pull. You know that feeling you get after a bad cramp? Not tired, but pain. And it feels like I have to move it more than usual to get my knee to bend.

It's not the knee itself, but the muscles around it. Mostly above.

It sounds like you have HerpesAIDS. Common in people who don't go see the physiotherapist. Come on amigo, it's not possible to go see someone because... it's expensive? It's an investment well worth making IMO.
