RE: Atheists who work out
Yesterday was hills.

Today - stretching, push-ups, tricep dips/raises, banana/superman, abs. I don't have any weights or a mat with me.

I'll try your video either tomorrow or the day after, Colourcraze. Thanks for sharing Smile

I'll probably put in some miles when I get home from work tomorrow morning.

Time to get ready for work! It's a full body work out in itself - with a focus on back with lifting/turning patients and legs with hourly squats to check outputs Tongue

Thanks. I was reasonably pleased with the time, but it's only a few seconds faster than what I ran in the same race a year ago and I was hoping to do a little better. Regarding my foot, I appreciate your suggestion about walking, but I'm itching to run. I don't think it's that serious which is why I took the week off - to make sure it stays not serious. If I have any sign on Monday that it's still a real problem, then I may walk or bike if I have to.

That's very good, especially while not racing. Smile

I do yoga, hiking, and rock climbing wall--I am not doing any weightlifting etc. But since I am vegan--I would like to add some more protein due to my workouts. Any ideas?
soy or almond milk should work. Smile and welcome to the thread!

I've been keeping up with my running for the most part, but due to my office moving to a new location, my work schedule has been all over the place and making it somewhat difficult to keep my normal training schedule. On the weekend we moved, I worked 41 hours between Friday, Saturday, and Sunday! I did no running on those days...

The following Thursday I ran in a 5k race and finished in 23 minutes, 34 seconds. I was hoping to be a bit faster, but I felt tired right from the start. I think it was due to that 41 hour weekend a few days earlier. Then I ran 10 miles on that Saturday and developed some tendonitis in my left foot. So I took this past week off and have been icing the foot, but on Monday I'm getting back to the running. The tendonitis isn't completely gone, but I can't stand to be out much longer.

This seems like the yoga I do at the gym. The teacher mixes the techniques up though, sometimes holding the positions for an intolerably long time but sometimes the positions are held for a short period of time and it's more of a flow from position to position. On Saturday I do an 2 1/2 hour ballet class and if I have time a 1 hour ballet class on Thursday but that doesn't happen often and it gets expensive.

Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

RE: Atheists who work out
In order to deal with dicky knees and regular calf strains I came up with a new cardio system. When not on the TM, CT, or bike, I utilize my other free time, say shopping, to combine power walking and jogging for 10 to 15 minutes. Getting too sweaty isn't a problem over such a short period. Sort of killing two birds with one stone.Thumbsup

RE: Atheists who work out
Had an awesome workout this afternoon! WG lat pull downs, seated cable rows and straight bar push downs for my back, and bicep work--straight bar curls and free weights curls. Planks and ab crunches for core work after.

Then, went for a short 20 minute run on the treadmill.

@ jennybee, I saw today at a health food shoppe, a product called sunwarrior which is a food plant based protein powder for making shakes, and thought of you. Heart

@morondog, you feel wrecked but you're still awesome. Hug

It's nice that you are part of a running club so you can have a partner for workouts like that. You'll benefit from that in the long run (sorry, bad pun Tongue ). A nap is perfectly acceptable after a long hard run like that and you're body will thank you later if you did actually get some sleep. Great job enduring the tough workout! Thumbsup
