RE: Solar Eclipse 2017
I'm pretty excited. My house in SC is literally on the centerline of the path. My work is a mile from there and they are letting everyone go outside for an hour and eat some refreshments, but I'm thinking about just going home for a late long lunch. If anyone's in central SC and wants to come over for a beer and watch let me know.

Hoping everyone else has great weather for the event.

That costs money to go to Kwajalein, it always costs "Atoll"..... HA I MADE A FUNNY!

My Mom visited there a long time ago because her teaching friend had a husband in the military.

Why would you not be happy, tropical no traffic, hopefully no tropical storms or hurricanes while you are there. Only downside is that it is a tiny island. Looks pretty though.

I got curious and looked it up -- the average high temperature is in the mid-80s (degrees Fahrenheit) with percent humidity also in the 80s. I would be absolutely miserable in those conditions, even with a nice sea breeze. So that's a big downside for me. I guess it depends on your tolerance for heat and humidity. Mine is pretty low.

Shocking

Won't work unless you add in dancing nekkid around an inverted cross. While chanting "Make America Great Again!!!"

Of course I am counting on the President to uphold his end of the ritual.

So, you and Him going to be watching the eclipse together on the 21st?

Just make sure he doesn't take you to a bar the night before, and get you
loaded, so you oversleep and miss it.

I wonder how many weddings are planned for during the eclipse. That would be kind of cool.

Where are we going and why am I in this hand basket?

RE: Solar Eclipse 2017
Headed to Lake Hartwell in SC for the eclipse with the family. 11.5 hours drive from where we live so making it 2 days up and 2 days back, seeing caverns and skyline drive in NC. We just drove to Maine (11 plus hours) 3 weeks ago so the teenaged kids aren't too thrilled but I am forcing the issue on perhaps a once in a lifetime event. I am excited.

I won't be taking any pictures though. I just want to absorb the moment. Others have better equipment. I don't want to be fussing with anything.

I just hope the weather cooperates. I will be really really bummed if the clouds are too heavy.
