Awesome pet name
Hey everyone. I am looking at getting a dog for the boys. Perhaps a Lab or a German Shepherd. I always wanted to have an awesome name for a pet. I have tossed around the idea of something epic like "King Leonidas Destroyer Of Worlds " or the opposite extreme and give it a regular human name like Phil or Dave. I am not much of a cat fan but if I had one I would name it "Special Agent Jack Bower" or "Ethan Hunt". Let me know what you think.

Sun-Eyed Setter, Destroyer of Worlds, was a very cool dog.

Smith.

Not pretentious. Just kinda says it all about a dog - especially a shep.

I think you have to meet the dog first and see what personality traits he has. Or why not let your boys name him?

I am a Brit. I have just googled. I'd love to say that the pun was intentional but I have to truth and say that it was unintentional. However, I still think that Smith is a good name for a dog - even a shep.

Our miniature poodle when I was a kid was named Leonidas Melenus. He was a yippy leg- humper.

We had a great dog named Watson.

RE: Awesome pet name
We recently rescued a dog from Georgia. My 5-year-old son named her "Obi" after Obi Wan Kenobi. I think it's a great name for a dog. My wife and I have always tossed around the idea of naming pets after writers, or characters from books, movies, etc. We have a schnauzer named Salinger now. Some time down the line we intend to name a dog "Detective Lenny Briscoe," and just call him "Briscoe" for short. I've always liked the idea of having a super chilled-out Golden Retriever and naming him "Jeff" after Jeff Bridges.
