RE: Awkward Moments Children's Bible
By the way, this just occurred to me, "Love others as yourself. Meanwhile, we shall drill into your head what a worthless piece of crap you are without Jebus".

I don't think having the same opinion of others as you have of yourself is really a virtue when the opinion of yourself is terrible.

Popcorn I put more thought into fiction than theists put into reality.

So you're saying proper indoctrination involves selling the children on all the happy bits before telling them the rest of the story?

I never hated that second half of the message more then when I was at my grandmother's funeral two months ago. Half of the sermon was spent shitting all over her memory to prop up Jesus.

T.I.

I try to be patient with your anger, however, please allow me to point out:

* If they're Muslims posting to TTA their apologetics you respond, I'm sure, as if you hate them.

* If they're gay Christians posting to this forum to try to witness to you, ditto.

* I don't hate gays or Muslims nor do 99% of evangelicals I've encountered. You're just putting forth the liberal party line...

No, you don't hate gays, you're just a bigot towards them while you talk out of both sides of your mouth.

For people who are VERY quick to call NTS on me on all occasions, you are now telling me I'm a mainline denominational Protestant when I'm an evangelical Christian (who seeks to distance himself from Protestants who rely on teen birth control and not abstinence, advocate gay clergy and gay marriage, etc.).

This is unappreciated.

Opposing gay clergy and/or gay marriage can be done without hate. You are quick to inflate my opinions using emotion.

For example, I would personally oppose/vote against Hillary Clinton for President based on her liberal political viewpoint. Does that mean I hate her?

I'm told atheists on forums like TTA are bitter and angry. If you are not, your posts to me will be respectful, insightful and thoughtful. Prove me wrong by your adherence to decent behavior.

No. I'm saying there is some content in books and films, religious or no, that may not be appropriate for children. I know you've heard of blockers for cable channels that allow programs to air while skipping certain scenes...

Based on what justification.

That's not what the Bible says:

Leviticus 20:13--If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

Sounds like hate to me.

Based on what justification.

Fear of change, disgust, wish to dictate others how should they live. One probabky could find more but certainly hate isn't only justification. Having said that I think not one of these is valid.

I'd rather say disgust, but it could be hate I guess.

And no, I understand there are many Jews who don't object to some Christian concepts being taught in schools or vice versa since virtue is... virtue.

The concept of virtue predates Christianity.

Why do you keep saying these ignorant things? Consider

Because he doesn't understand the origins of virtue anymore than he does the origins of The Word.

"The sage has no interest of his own, but takes the interests of the people as his own. He is kind to the kind; he is also kind to the unkind: for Virtue is kind. He is faithful to the faithful; he is also faithful to the unfaithful: for Virtue is faithful." - Lao Tze
