Back in my day
Can you believe that somewhere in the future someone could say "back in my day we use to listen to real music, like lil Wayne and Justin Bieber. "

I hope I'm not around to hear this.

Yeah, I had the thought when I had my first kid.

He and his friends actually prefer music from my generation so there's hope.

Beiber will go by way of David Cassidiy and others...eventually no one will want to admit they liked him at all.

Then, it'll go back around as a joke.

Now the question is what is the legendary music of today?

Just as many of my contemporaries will never admit they wore platform shoes with bell bottomed jeans and paisley shirts and had their hair in an afro......

Not that I ever did that.....

(that you know of...)

Yes, people seem to have selective amnesia don't they.

I never wore big shoulder pads in the late 80's-90's either. Never, never, never. Girl_nails

He is deformed, crooked, old, and sere,
Ill-fac’d, worse bodied, shapeless every where;
Vicious, ungentle, foolish, blunt, unkind,
Stigmatical in making, worse in mind.

I didn't mind the regular bells. The big bells were kinda obnoxious.

Oddly enough I had a pair of wedge heels back in jr high they were kinda like platform-ish. I saw a few months ago at target. Exact same shoe almost.

I actually pulled out my shoe journal to prove it to myself. Blush

Yeah, some girls wrote a journal of their feelings, and shit.

I kept one to remember my shoes and favorite purses.

I totally dated a guy in high school who rocked the Jew fro.

He had hair like Neil Schon. Yes

And big shoulder pads required big hair to go with it...

When I went to boot camp, my hair was bleached nearly white in a big fro..(every guy in a band did) ... The guy doing I.D.'s asked "Hair color?" -- when I replied "Brown" - he slowly looked up at me, and said sarcastically "Oh - really??????"

Now I can honestly say I never did the big shoulder pads.

But I did have the hair.

That big messy Nina Blackwood look.

Got lots of dates, free dinners, and drinks with that look.
