Back to Square One
The Pope Speaks

Lest anyone still think that this Pope is going to change the Catholic Church by dragging it into the 20th century, here's an amended list:

Now Approved
Gays

Still Disapproved
Euthanasia (Assisted Suicide)
Abortion
InVitro Fertiliation
Embryonic Stem Cell Research

Yea, Pope. Angry

Someone tell him to inform his God that if he doesn't want people to use euthanasia then he should stop giving people painful and fatal diseases with no hope for recovery.

Popcorn I put more thought into fiction than theists put into reality.

I'd be happy to get them up past the 14th or 15th centuries...

To simply quote euthanasia for starters.
The whole idea of a perfect creator, who has given us one attempt to 'pass the test' is absurd. Life is a harsh battle for many, with some enduring terrible suffering.
To prolong the agony and humility of the terminal and hopelessly ill is not an act of compassion, but a diabolically evil one.

This reinforces my perception that all the recently tolerant statements made by the pope are nothing but PR campaigns. Cunning, devious and hypocritical. Yep. Par for the Vatican's course.

Euthanasia is needed to be banned by the church. Otherwise, How can the church preach about all the suffering people in the world in need of accepting Jesus before they die if they are allowed to just die before their suffering brings them to a painful, long and dragged out and pathetic death?

Which is also why the church won't use that fraction of its money that it makes tax free on to wipe out world hunger. It's bad for business.

Ah, too bad... sounds like they got him to tow the line.

And here I thought this one might have phased out the dogma altogether and made what was left of "The Church" into a more tolerant, deist-like, charitable organization.
