Back to the Future makes me feel old.
I love Back to the Future. It was a great movie. The sequels were ok too.
But it makes me feel old.
Ya see when Marty McFly left 1985 to travel to 1955 he was visiting a world that seemed ancient, a world that was kinda alien to me. Just as alien as the movies version of 2015. Here we are now in 2015, 30 years after the original. If this movie were made today Marty would travel 30 years into the past to 1985, a world that is familiar to me but doesn't seem all too long ago.
If this movie is part of your childhood does it also make you feel old?

By the way! Where the hell is my fake looking holographic shark? My self drying jacket? My cybernetic implants? I think I seen a YouTube video about a hoverboard but I might have dreamed it! Still no flying cars?! TV they seemed to get right. You can have a picture(still or live) and watch more than one channel at a time but I doubt I'll get fired through a fax.
I think I might have derailed this before it started. Meh. Fuck it...

I'll one-up ya there bro ---

Talk about feeling OLD --- we've been getting "Lost in Space" on Netflix.

The ol' lady and I grew up watching that series on TV. (I thought it was all filmed in black and white -- (we had a b+w TV) turns out just the first season was)

That show ??? Season one was in 1965.

Was supposed to be the "Futuristic" year ----- of 1997.

RE: Back to the Future makes me feel old.
Coincidentally, this came up in a conversation with a Perth taxi driver earlier this week.

What do you do blah blah IT blah blah Artificial Intelligence bah blah Turing Test more blah Terminator ... various movies.

I said I hadn't seen the series but had seen enough clips to think it kinda puerile. He informed me that it's a generational thing.

In other words... I was too old even when they were made.

If BTTF was made today it would be pretty boring.
Just a movie about Marty and Doc sitting around the house playing XBox. Smile

And Deloreans are kind of hard to find these days......

Maybe they could use a McLaren F-1

RE: Back to the Future makes me feel old.
So does it mean I'm old if I'm the same age as the movie and everyone is feeling old because it's old?
