Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.

I see what you did there.

Both times.
The first time, I nearly snorted.

Looks like you will never get your answer now Rocket.

Yes we are, and she adopted me so I am even luckier. Smile

RE: Ban Log Commentary Thread
There really was no answer to give, since it was a fake jumble of two equations (I jumbled them to make it harder for him to Google what I had posted) that I found on a differential equations practice website.

Had he known anything about science or math, he would have noticed instantly that my exponent symbols were missing, that the variables changed without being cancelled out, and that none of those maths had anything to do with the common formulae for gravity. I normally don't like "gotcha" tricks, but that guy's constant disparagement of the integrity and intellect of every member on this board, when he was plainly a moron, got under my skin. So I popped him with a gotcha that he should have been able to answer immediately with a, "what the f is that?" Clearly, he couldn't do even basic differential equations or recognize the absence of any of the normal formulae for gravity.

Or maybe it was because I didn't use colors. Guess we'll never know.

Hoist by his own petard huh? Good trick to remember. But there's an easy rebuttal too. You just grab another two, jumble 'em together, accuse your accuser of being intelligent but applying the maths wrongly, and... Bob's your uncle Tongue

1) He clearly wasn't smart enough to pull that off.

2) I actually know differential calculus, so I'd have spotted that.

3) I grant the tactic has limited application. Tongue
