I'm hoping to start a thread about that soon actually. [1]

With that in mind, do you think that maybe all religious theists are only getting partial information from God, and are projecting the rest of the religion onto it? After all, people are extremely likely to join the local religion. [2]

I can't speak for the mods, but I don't think there's any way you're going to get kicked off here. You're not obliged to answer any questions you don't want to. I'm glad you're here Smile [3]

1) Fair enough.

2) That is certainly a possibility.

3) I hope you're right!

Maybe.

As a former theist, what is clear to me now was that certain beliefs were trained into me before I could think about them properly. That made me mistake such beliefs as my own, with regrettable consequences. It caused any number of conflicts in my relationships, and made me spend decades trying to make sense of "my" beliefs.

How do you support a belief in the trinity with philosophical theism?

Could you be more specific?

Non sequitur.

I can be clear about the content of my belief without being clear about the means by which I arrived at those beliefs.

I rewrote my reply while you were working on yours, and deleted that line (above).

Sorry.

My philosophical theism includes a single divinity, and excludes multiple divinities.

The trinity posits a single divinity subsisting as three persons (I.e. not 3 divinities).

Sorry.

If deleting the words equate to retracting the asserting, then I thank you

Then apparently you are presenting us with beliefs which are derived from both religious and philosophical theism.
