And out comes the ninja in the ninja in the night. A few quick laughs and then *poof* he vanishes, to remain a legend.

Thats acutally the honest to goodness BEST suggestion yet.
Tell him to start at the beginning and tell me when he gets to anything that appears to be a moral.

I might just do that!

Plus even if he doesn't read it (he won't), just offering him "his" book in support of atheism makes a great statement.

The good news is that C.S. Lewis is actually a good read, regardless of the flawed logic. I prefer his "The Problem of Pain" to "Mere Christianity" though. My favorite atheist book is Sam Harris' "The End of Faith." It's about the same size as Mere Christianity so it's a fair trade. It's also where my sig quotes are from.

"Ain't got no last words to say, yellow streak right up my spine. The gun in my mouth was real and the taste blew my mind."

"We see you cry. We turn your head. Then we slap your face. We see you try. We see you fail. Some things never change."

*****UPDATE*****

Buddy Christ really did me a favor. I have ordered a copy of the bible and sent it to my pal (love that Amazon.com).

He's probalby expecting Dawkins, Hitchens, Harris and all its evil baby eating blatherings......

This is a brillaint suggestion and one i think ole Hitch spoke about too.

This is a sure fire way to keep the discussion (when we have it) on sound footing. Not about what Daw-Hitch-Harris claim, but keeping the topic solely on whats written in the 'good book'.

Thanks BC!

As dutchman I recommend Hitchens. But a friend of mine wrote a book called "Courage to Doubt" his name is Stephen Hurlin. It's a conversion from Christianity to atheism, his journey to intellectual freedom. A formerly born again christian who lives in South Africa.
