You are suggesting that theists have to go through all sorts of contortions to make sense of their beliefs.

The person in red is represents "pulling your head out of your ass".

You think guys who go to seminary are assholes and don't deserve a dignified answer.

You just enjoy fucking with people.

All of the above. Drinking Beverage

Seriously, the mental contortions in your post are hilarious.

Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.

RE: Biblical Atrocities explained
I'm confused.

Comet, is your initial post supposed to be a statement of what you actually believe, or a statement of an argument you think others might make to explain Biblical atrocities (or more accurately, divinely mandated atrocities recorded in the Bible). If the latter is true, then I appreciate the attempt to bring a coherent argument to our attention. I humbly submit that the result is not nearly as coherent as the attempt. If the former is true, I cannot see how an intelligent person such as yourself can make such arguments without recognizing them as morally bankrupt.

But again, I'm confused as to where you're coming from on this.
