Birds of prey (not star trek related)
I am working on writing a book and was curious if anyone here works with large preditory birds. If so I have a few questions to bounce off you. Must be willing to send pics as proof of your job.

Don't know about writers... but I'm a reader and I'd certainly read a book about birds.... especially about the larger birds... and especially if it has cool pics.

I do love birds. I can sit and watch them for hours. I think they are just so amazing. Sharing a common ancestry, birds are our nearest and truest descendants of dinosaurs.
Kind of freaky to consider they once had the upper hand on this planet, huh?

Well, if anyone wants to take a look at it and give me some ideas let me know. I am already the holder of the copyright, so I don't see any harm. I think I need to go into a bit more detail on it. My story is a fictional one. I would like to put some realism into it though and need to talk to someone that has worked with these amazing birds before.

If there is a university near you, they might have a scientist or at least a graduate student you could get some feedback from. I know my local university keeps an eye on the local environment and even offers up it's graduate students to the Fish & Game Commission. Those guys get a lot of experience in the field with all manner of wildlife. It's worth a shot to get some scientific accuracy on your birds, even if you have a fictional story - it will give your story a lot of credibility. There is no shame in not knowing. I already thought of that. The local colleges near me don't have any programs dealing with animals of any kind. I have contacted a few wildlife rescue groups and they don't want to answer my questions. They find my idea a bit scary. I think they believe that I might actually do what I am writing about.
