RE: Question about Near Death Experiences and Islam?
Not sure why you'd post this exact same message on two different atheist forums under different names (including sign off names)

RE: Question about Near Death Experiences and Islam?
Isn't the Internet written in English sites cluttered with a large religious majority of the Christian religions?

That's what one should expect the majority of as well as because even pre Internet in Christian circles thrive been a public showcase of clods wanting to tell it as of it meant something.

Why would you think there would be equal or close to lots of Hindu, Islamic, shinto, etc. MDE stories when looking through English sites?

Why panic when you can panik? via da Tapatalk

Guys do you believe Howard Storm's NDE?
This is a man who apparently used to be an atheist, but then during his NDE he was tortured in hell until he called out to Jesus. He was a former arts prof so in his NDE he saw 80 new primary colours, and he was able to predict world events in the future. He became a priest afterwards. What do you guys think, assuming he was not lying about his experience? His videos are very common all over youtube, and he still goes to conferences and cries every time he tells his story. He also wrote a few books about it.

Never heard of the guy, but it sounds like he's making a few bucks from whatever he's claiming.

Yeah because Jesus torturing people to force belief is *so* credible.
Jesus H. Fucking Christ.
Facepalm

And just exactly where are those new "primary colors" ? Oh. Nowhere. Right.
We know the light spectra, (colors) which result from the ranges of electromagnetic radiation.
Too bad this fool didn't know what colors actually are. He debunked himself, in his ignorance.

Insufferable know-it-all.Einstein God has a plan for us. Please stop screwing it up with your prayers.

RE: Guys do you believe Howard Storm's NDE?
What's there to believe? Even if I granted that he believes this actually happened to him there is no evidence that it was anything more than the faulty workings of a dying/recovering brain.

I have no idea what "80 new primary colors" means; it is an empty claim unless he can somehow show them to others. How exactly does color vision work in the afterlife if you have no eyes and no receptors reacting to the various wavelengths of light?

What future events did he predict? How specific and accurate were those predictions? How many predictions did not match reality?

His crying is not evidence of anything. If he does believe it the experience may be emotional for him without being based in reality. If he doesn't, maybe he's just a good actor.

ETA: As others pointed out, the idea that he saw a way to make some easy money conning the credulous sounds more likely than that Jesus sat by and let him be tortured until he begged for help. If that were true, Jesus is a fucking douchebag.

RE: Guys do you believe Howard Storm's NDE?
No idea who Howard Storm is and, well, don't really care.

I have no doubt that Storm experienced something. But unless he can show us something other than his anecdotal feelings - like these future predictions - then it's just so much hot air.

I sincerely wish the guy well in his new career. I just think he's confusing an organic experience based in the brain with something otherworldly.
