RE: Botched Lethal Injections in the US
Aw, gosh. I'm a huge supporter of the death penalty, and I'm tempted to open up a new thread to talk about the pros and cons of it (since that isn't the purpose of this thread). As for the botched stuff, I have no idea what is up with it!

I prefer fantasy, but I have to live in reality.

There are several past threads as well.

EDIT: here and here, just in the last few months.

My hesitance to revive an old thread is winning over my desire to start the discussion haha.

I'm simply not interested in discussing it.

Then it's disingenuous to post drive-by revenge porn.

But what's up with this surge of botched lethal injections in the US? I've seen dozens of dogs euthanized and it was always painless and quick. Why we got these strange pharmaceutical cocktails when a dose of barbituates followed by a nitrogen bag and 3 minutes later bob's your uncle? I'm guessing somebody's got some monetary interest preventing this.

My understanding is also medical personnel are prevented by performing acts that would cause harm. Prisons train their own people to start IV's and the injectors are self injecting -- since it's also something not done even daily the people "trained" lack overall experience. Once the process begins my understanding is that it's timed out. The problem is that some of the steps fail along the way.

But as if to knock me down, reality came around
And without so much as a mere touch, cut me into little pieces

What I really, really don't understand is advocating the death penalty even when it doesn't deter crime, when it costs more than life imprisonment, and when it is applied to false convictions...

How would it cost more than life imprisonment? Consider
