RE: Boxing Ring needs a distinct background.
How about if when a thread is started it includes the words boxing ring or [BR] in the title?

But as if to knock me down, reality came around
And without so much as a mere touch, cut me into little pieces

Or we could just read the titles of the threads we read. (Or, God forbid, glance at the top of the page when we open a thread) Just seems so obvious to me when all of them say something like "Challenge to Soandso" or "Soandso and Whatshername on suchandsuch".

Are you guys so lazy that we need to colorcode the forum for you? I've never been a fan of hand holding. Let's be grownups and pay attention. This is a public place where you are interacting with others. Noting that you're standing in a hair salon before shouting loudly about the bad pizza is just common courtesy.

.....or we could change it to have a bunch of little animated boxers sparring in the background. That would be cool. Or would the animation be distracting?

So many cats, so few good recipes.

I still can't figure out how people can't see that cornea searing purple. Makes my eye twitch.

Calm down buddy...take a breath, take a deep breath of something. Smile

See here they are the bruises some were self-inflicted and some showed up along the way. - JF

Just adding my two cents here.

The purple background is used to indicate to users, a) that they should be sensitive and understanding and b) that they can verbally assault their opponent.

Maybe it would be beneficial to change one of them to prevent confusion.

Or maybe the purple means "this forum has special rules; read them." Consider

I know what the purple background means... I just think maybe there's a better way. That's all. *shrugs*

"Don't answer that. A rhetorical question."
