Composting ALSO puts CO2 in the atmosphere.

Look, if you're worried about that, find a nice swamp somewhere with some permanent standing water and bury the Bible under a foot of mud which is in turn under 2 feet of water.

No, I wouldn't.
Question for you: Why would He do that (in your opinion)?

May be He doesn't. May be He does.

I don't think He cares if the Bible is burned.
I think He cares about motives behind your actions.
Why do you want to burn the Bible?
THIS IS THE QUESTION!
I am convinced God knows why.

This is the same thing that killed a dude for merely trying to steady the ark to prevent it from falling over. This is the same thing that killed some of Aaron's sons for bringing the "wrong kind of fire" to the altar. Fire is fire to these people. They had no idea what an oxidizer was. This is the same genocidal maniac who kills children for things their parents do. If he exists and the texts are correct, punishment is PRECISELY what I would expect. I mean, he apparently drowned everyone instead of just offing the people he didn't like.

From the book you think is his thoughts and wishes, he really, really doesn't like it when you do something against him/her/it.

Basically, if the bible is correct, there are ample examples of god doing something which is why one would expect that anyone who acts like those who god killed in the bible, they should also die.

There are many examples in the book you claim to have read of where this is not the case.

Considering how amazingly quick he is to enact judgement on people for incredibly minor infractions in the bible, I'd have thought burning his very rule book would at least get a whimper out of him.

But who knows. He's a weird dude.

I have a website here which discusses the issues and terminology surrounding religion and atheism. It's hopefully user friendly to all.

Where did God say that the Bible is His book? or His very rule book?

RE: Burning The Bible?
I don't know if we're talking reality or myth anymore.

It's generally Christians who say this. It's got all his rules in it, and Christians tend to say the people who wrote it were "inspired" by God. It's got hundreds of rules, which are supposed to have come from him.

I understand. Let's say we talk about the book and what is in it.

Exactly. But why do they say this? Do they have the commandment(rule) from God that the Bible is His book and to burn it is against His will?
Does the Bible claim that ALL God's rules are in it?
Does the Bible clam that it is "inspired" of God? I don't think so.

Then why do they say this?

THIS IS THE QUESTION!!!

RE: Burning The Bible?
They say it because they've been indoctrinated to say it. That's mostly how religion works. It's clear many Christians don't care what the book says, or even know what it says.

Very little of what Christians say about their religion makes any sense to me at all.
