A friend of mine was cold canvassing for 'Foxtel' (cable company) when they first started here over 10 years ago. As she is a stunning looking girl she had the most sales throughout the whole company 5 years running!

Other than that, I got nothing...

Good luck Undecided

And that way if the business doesn't work out, you can then open an escort service! Smile

Not sure how much advantage, from looking really good, you have when you cold call (phone) people. But I guess it's always better to be very pretty. Big Grin

BTW, this was door-to-door not over the phone

Humankind Dodgy (a total misnomer)

RE: Business Idea...Ur feedback please.
Because of the DNC list, it's difficult to find numbers you can call. Plus you MUST register with the FTC in order to market in specific zip codes.

https://telemarketing.donotcall.gov/

I work in the advertising data industry in the US (at a data broker). Most people have registered their home phones on the donotcall.gov website so that they don't get telemarketing calls, so you can't just open a phone book and start making calls. You could face some very stiff fines of thousands of dollars PER phone number called.

Personally, I despise cold calling and people knocking on my door. I typically won't answer either one.

We have something similar over here in the UK.....but its not as stringent.

I have considered telesales as a choice/option for the client but it isnt one of my preferences......the downside to it not being face to face is that people can just put the phone down on you anytime, at the door people seem more polite and patient. The plus side is you can get through high volumes of people and because its "faceless" you can be a bit more bolder/direct in your approach.

For no matter how much I use these symbols, to describe symptoms of my existence.
You are your own emphasis.
So I say nothing.

Unless you get someone like me. When someone comes to my home and tries to sell me something, my first question is, "were you invited to my home by me?" The following question is, "are you familiar with the dog breed Staffordshire Terrier?"

That's usually enough, but if not I go get the dog. I make it clear that I will only ask once, then I ask them to leave. It only takes one brain cell to turn around and walk away after you've encountered that dog.

I take HUGE offense at uninvited strangers coming to my home.

You have just begun reading the sentence you have just finished reading.

I suggest to release the dog first and then ask very politely (but loud enough for them to hear while running at full speed):

"Is there anything I can do for you sir?"

Oh, no Hallucinations 4:11 says the 'gilded sheep should be stewed in rat blood' but Morons 5:16 contradicts it. (Chas)

I would never shake a baby unless the recipe requires it.

I've always been this way too. Most of the time I just ignore them knocking at the door until they give up though. My yorkies and jack russel terrier aren't intimidating enough to use as a threat. Undecided

Yeah, huh? I guess "taking HUGE offense" is more PC than "kill 'em" Big Grin
