California to vote on legalizing recreational marijuana
http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2...-marijuana

Quote:Voters in California will decide this November whether to legalize the use of recreational marijuana in the nation's most populous state.

California's secretary of state announced Tuesday that the measure had obtained enough signatures to be placed on the ballot. Its supporters have raised $3.53 million, The Sacramento Bee reports — nearly 31 times more than what opponents have raised.

I'm gonna vote.

Didn't they do this just a few years ago and lose?

1. The article goes into that.
2. That doesn't mean we should just give up legalizing recreational marijuana.

It's legal here. No problems so far.

Many ideas need time to gain support. Like gay marriage.

I hope that freedom will prevail as I see no sense in marijuana being criminalized.

I smoked a fair bit back in the day - but don't care for the buzz anymore- and it's kind of a worthless high - all you want to do, is eat and smoke more.................

But, that said ---

I've never seen a guy come home from work, smoke a half dozen bowls while watching TV, then beat the shit out of his wife and kids...........

Alcohol, on the other hand......... Far too often....

And that's "legal"....

Go figure...

I expect we'll see it legal (or at least decriminalized) in the next few years.....

While not a huge part of the Mexican drug cartel's income -- it'd still put a hurt on them were it legal in the US.....

The prohibition of weed has cost too much, for too long, with too little gain from it being illegal....
