I always found this to be a silly question. Evil is a word. Nothing more, nothing less. It's a word we use to describe highly anti-social behavior. That some people ascribe to it some supernatural meaning is irrelevant. Just as irrelevant as these same people ascribing some extra supernatural meaning to humans. Whatever extra meaning other people put into it, everyone the world over agrees, generally, on what is evil.

Don't side with the christians and try to invest the word with extra meaning too. It's just a word. A particularly strong word, one not meant to be used lightly, but a word nonetheless. And most people understand it to mean "Of or relating to something that is excessively opposed to moral values," whatever other meanings they may ascribe to it.
