RE: Can we stop blaming Trump?
My brother, a guy we used to call "a solid C student" remarked about "Obama's Recession" in gleeful tones. This was in December 2008, before he ever took office. Things went down hill from there.

And don't forget his greatest offense in the eyes of the Trump fanatics: being President while Black.

The point was made about Trump. Can you not simply defend Trump on his own merits, or must you Trumpeteers always point the finger and deflect?
Fair point. I want to ask you a question: who did you vote for?

oooo ooooo ask me ask me! I voted for Humongous Bone in the Bunghole Party and my kid voted for Giant Meteor. I love answering that question.

Why does that matter? Address the criticism of Trump in terms of Trump, rather than trying to attack the critic based on their vote.

This is just more deflection.

OK.
So, what can we blame Obama for? Is there anything?

Mishandling our involvement in the Arab Spring movements, no doubt. Getting us involved in a criminal war in Yemen.

Obama did not double the deficit. The deficit went down under Obama, a little bit if you measure in unadjusted dollars, more reduction if you adjust for inflation as is usually done.

Obama increased the debt, as has every modern president. He did not double it, or come anywhere remotely near that.

"The national debt grew the most dollar-wise during President Obama's two terms. He added $7.917 trillion, a 68 percent increase, in seven years."
