Carl Sagan Quotes
I was browsing the WikiQuotes page for Carl Sagan, and I found some great quotes.

"Every one of us is, in the cosmic perspective, precious. If a human disagrees with you, let him live. In a hundred billion galaxies, you will not find another"

"The cosmos is full beyond measure of elegant truths; of exquisite interrelationships; of the awesome machinery of nature"

"Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives..."

If you know of any great quotes I would love to hear them.

"I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason and intellect has intended us to forego their use." - Galileo

"Every man is guilty of all the good he did not do." - Voltaire

RE: Carl Sagan Quotes
Hello there! These are among my favorite Carl Sagan's Quotes:

"If we long to believe that the stars rise and set for us, that we are the reason there is a Universe, does science do us a disservice in deflating our conceits?"

"For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring."

"The universe is not required to be in perfect harmony with human ambition."

"A celibate clergy is an especially good idea, because it tends to suppress any hereditary propensity toward fanaticism."

"The tendency to turn human judgments into divine commands makes religion one of the most dangerous forces in the world.”
-Georgia Harkness.

"La fe es patrimonio de los pendejos. (Faith is patrimony of the dumbfucks)."
-Diego Rivera

RE: Carl Sagan Quotes
Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves.

This quote makes me emotional sometimes...

Observer

Agnostic atheist
Secular humanist
Emotional rationalist

RE: Carl Sagan Quotes
Carl Sagan truly was a great poet. The quote Cetaceaphile provided is a testament to that by itself.

"I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason and intellect has intended us to forego their use." - Galileo

"Every man is guilty of all the good he did not do." - Voltaire
