RE: Castles
You can't talk about castles without Mad Ludwig's Neuschwanstein castle in Bavaria. No

There was a series on the BBC about his castles. Can't remember what it was called, but it's worth looking out for.

Hohenzollern castle. Home of the last line of prussian kings and emperors (1871-1918). Far away from prussia tho. Laugh out load

Hohenschwangau, just opposite of Neuschwanstein. (Re)Built by Ludwigs dad.

There's one about 20 miles away from me that doesn't really qualify as a proper castle, called Gwrych... It was built as a sort of fantasy fairy tale mansion about 150 years ago. The previous owners let the interior decay and it's been empty for years. Fortunately someone has bought it and intends to renovate it turn it into a hotel.

I'll post a photo up when I get back to the PC.

RE: Castles
We also have plenty of castles here in Ireland. My local castle is Swords Castle. It was built as the residence of the first Anglo-Norman Archbishop of Dublin, around 1200 in Swords, just north of Dublin.

Trim Castle in Co. Meath was used in the film Braveheart.

NOTE: Member, Tomasia uses this site to slander other individuals. He then later proclaims it a joke, but not in public.
I will call him a liar and a dog here and now.
