So did they just rent the same studio in California that NASA did to fake the US moon landing, or did they set up their own ? Tongue

If we had president Newt Ginrich by now we'd already have a space colony up there to kick that machine off the moon.

I imagine this probe is much easier to control. What's the communication delay length to the moon? Can't compete with the delay to Mars, I bet.

Yutu looks to be in some trouble: http://www.universetoday.com/108576/yutu...nar-night/

The moon is about 1.3 light seconds away from earth, meaning a 2.6s irreducible round trip delay plus equipment delays and the effect of any bandwidth limitation. The Russian Lunokhod series also had to deal with a metre-wide blind spot ahead of the craft. Without binocular vision they also had to rely on shadows and perspective to judge terrain[1]. The round trip to Mars would be about 20 minutes.

Just pointing out that nobody gives a fuck about the moon.
Mars is where it's at right now.

When you're the program manager for a space agency I'm sure your opinion will count, earmuffs. For now:
"China's troubled Jade Rabbit appears to have come back to life after earlier reports the lunar rover had died on the surface of the Moon."
