This ain't our first rodeo with Ed.

Ed’s incarnation as Egor was banned right? How does a ban get lifted?

Someone named “Veridican” just signed up, sock puppet?

If I remember correctly (and I will be corrected if I am wrong) but Egor demanded to be banned and when he wasn't he crossed enough lines to get banned. Then he came back with less gawd more woo and asked to be allowed to return. That was a short run and now he is back.

He has already said that he could create 365 sock accounts a year by doing one a day so...

Scary that the phrase in one of the threads "my declining health" caused Ed to ask, "are you sick?" The man's a nurse.Facepalm

See here they are the bruises some were self-inflicted and some showed up along the way. - JF

We're all mad here. The Cheshire Cat

He wasn't banned. A very bad precedent was set by the admin deleting Ego®'s profile when Ego® whined hard enough.

Then the asshole returns. He shouldn't have been allowed back in the door.

Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.

He was probably afraid the Toastmasters would find him out. Maybe they banned him now ?

First it was lotsa god, little woo. Then "monist gawd" (whatever that is), then lotsa woo, little gawd, now we got lotsa god and lotsa woo.

Insufferable know-it-all.Einstein God has a plan for us. Please stop screwing it up with your prayers.

Kid doesn't listen to you? Beat his little ass. Spare the rod, spoil the child. Tell your little hellion he'd better listen or there's more where that came from!

Do whatever you want. Sunday's coming and you can be cleansed of it all.

Sweet racket there.
Angel

Hell yea. Kick his ass for not minding you! Respect. Authority. Fear. The principals of love.

But yea there's church on Sunday where you can wear your Sunday's best and not feel as bad as you should for beating your kid up last Wednesday. Thumbsup

How many prominent church leaders rage against homosexuals and then turn out to be one?

Wouldn't surprise me.

If you listen to a moral absolutist go on long enough, it always boils down to
  • baseless assertions (who cares? They're a dime a dozen),
  • appeals to emotion ("Only a bad person would say that slavery isn't objectively wrong!"), or
  • appeals to consequences ("If there were no God, I'd totally be killing lots of people!").
And that last one happens more than you think it should. In all honesty, I used to make that last argument. Well, I didn't say I would kill people, but I argued that I could. So, I get why people jump to it, and it's super creepy when they do, but it really just shows that the person doesn't understand subjective morality outside of looking at it through a framework of objective morality.

He's likely complaining about hedonism and moral relativism so much because he feels that he's sacrificed a lot and he's still waiting for his pay out. Complaining about hedonism is actually pretty stupid. Everyone is a hedonist. It turns out that when you do things you want to do, your brain releases happy drugs, and experientially, that's how you feel happy. He just calibrates his happiness around the idea of self-sacrifice, so when he decides not to do X to make himself happy, he becomes happy by not doing it. Then he throws a holier-than-thou hissy fit because not everyone cares about that, and they're totally out there doing X, having a blast.

What's really sad is his entire paradigm of self-sacrifice is based on presupposition and is entirely unnecessary. And here he is trolling atheist forums to feel better about his life choices. Wonderful.

There's no doubt about it. He is obviously trolling. Whether or not he genuinely believes what he's posting has nothing to do with whether or not he will come here for discussions in good faith. You don't open up with a post like that expecting discussion.

Then you turn toward championing homosexuality, and then you deteriorate even further and further into praising misogynistic themes, and then to sick and ugly forms of sexuality, and then down to a lot of references to feces. You start to post pictures of people defecating or pictures of feces in toilets, etc. What the fuck? Is nothing human left?

Recently, in many atheist forums, there’ve been a lot of pornographic references to Jesus Christ (second coming seems to be a favorite)--as if he ever did anything bad to you. He fucking died on a cross for the salvation of your souls. I suppose you're wondering what's he done for you lately. Facepalm

This is the effect of atheism on one's mind. It starts out as a liberating mental moral exercise as you reject formal religion, but everything deteriorates from there as the implications of atheism take hold.

No God=No authority=no mandate for morality=freedom=hedonism=dissatisfaction with physical life=hopelessness=psychological defenses=madness.

Come away from it, people. For the love of God; for the love of yourselves. Turn and be saved.

I suppose I’m shitting on your rug, eh, Stark Raving?

It's strange actually, or maybe not so strange, to observe how you Christians start out talking about the tangible effects God has on everything, but as the implications of Christianity begin to set in, you turn first toward making God increasingly vague and distant. Then you start lashing out at the skeptics who planted these seeds.

Then you turn toward championing God killing babies in the flood and the tenth plague, and then you deteriorate even further and further into historical revisionism, saying that Christianity was the reason for ending slavery in the US and for the Civil Rights Movement. Any rationality turns to shit. What the fuck? Is nothing honest left?

Recently, in many Christian forums, there's been a lot of inappropriate lashing out at atheists--as if they ever did anything bad to you. They're trying to loosen the stranglehold a bronze-age morality system has on our government. I suppose you're wondering what they've done for you lately.

This is the effect of Christianity on one's mind. It starts out as a liberating mental moral exercise as you reject the consequences of your actions and anticipate eternal bliss, but everything deteriorates from there as the implications of Christianity take hold.

Fear of God watching everything=only doing good because you have to=no altruism=getting self righteous to feel better about your plight=lashing out at any skeptics who point this out=whining about subjective morality=saying you'd totally kill lots of people if God weren't real=madness.

Come away from it, people. For the love of rational thought; for the love of yourselves. Turn away and save what's left of your mind.

I suppose I’m shitting on your rug, eh, Gordon?

Bowing
