RE: Christian Doctrine
Bzltyr, have you cited anything further than
  • Genesis account matches Big Bang Theory
  • There are 7 stars listed as being in the Pleiades
as reasons to believe the Bible?

Here are some points I'd like you to consider:
  • Is it not more likely that the Bible was written by priests trying to advance their own agenda rather than inspired by God?
  • What causes you to believe that the Bible is inspired by God? The match with science?
  • How do you explain that the modern science of geology totally rejects the global flood? You are happy that according to you the Bible fits with Big Bang theory. Are those professional working geologists wrong?

Cheers Smile Dog.

Well that would be nice. Paul went into Ephesus and told the truth. I am here telling the truth.
Jesus said, "I am the way, the TRUTH and the light.
The TRUTH shall make you free.

And, with one post, you redefine "truth" into meaningless.

Like the whore you can't be with me you have to go somewhere else not here he's not putting a gun to your head hell wasn't made for men but that's where you go becuase you can't be with god.

Poor god got his feelings hurt. So much for a perfect, omniscient being.

Edit to Add: I had not yet neg-repped you, because while I do think you have repeatedly lied, I didn't think you had done so deliberately but were simply repeating lies you had been told were truths. Now you've moved into the realm of neg-rep-worthy.

I think you're my fourth neg-rep, ever.

Ouch, how will I ever recover. Sarcasm again.
I told no lies. You may think they are lies but that is due to your ignorance.

Claiming knowledge you obviously dont have is lying.

RE: Christian Doctrine
PS: Not only does geology reject the global flood but so does biology Smile i.e. that lovely theory of Evolution that you guys like to bang on about. So please tell me:
  • Is big bang correct and evolution wrong?

Is the Noah story some kind of metaphor? Was there a local flood and not a global one? Are you aware of the available evidence for the evolution of humans?

Remember that bit where you said "Genesis says that plants came before animals". That's... based on evolution right?

Genesis also says that woman was created from a rib of Adam's? Is that story true? Men and women have the same number of ribs by the way. Also if evolution is true then man and woman can't have been made separately as we'd both be descended from ape species? Is Man some kind of special species? Not an animal?

You mentioned somewhere something about "If God is that good to make the universe then he can do anything". Please understand this is not a valid explanation. Sure, God could have created everything that we see and interact with along with fake memories for everyone and so forth in the last 15 seconds. Yet you are extremely sure that he didn't.

If you want to convince me then saying "Magic" is not convincing.

Sorry this post got long.

If G-d created the universe and everything in it 15 seconds ago, then we're not meant to know it because the solution to the puzzle is still a very old universe.

All evidence points to a universe that is billions of years old. That's what we're meant to see.

Christian views never cease to surprise me, so I won't assume anything. Jews do not believe that the third temple has been built yet.

As I said, "up for discussion as to when this will happen."

Christians can believe whatever makes them happy, but the concept of Messiah is a Jewish one, and Jesus doesn't fit the bill for being from the House of David. He would have needed a biological Davidic father. These rules are long established, detailed in the Torah, and maintained as a Jewish tradition from the time of Moses.

The rules do not arbitrarily suspend because some Gentiles like some guy.

But to qualify as the Jewish messiah, he needed to fulfill the messianic expectations that were established hundreds of years before his birth.

If he doesn't fulfill those qualifications, then he's not the Jewish messiah. It's nothing personal against him. He failed to do the job.

It is a matter of timing.

You'll have to quote that prophecy so I can address it. Naturally, I will address it from the original language, not from the translation of a translation of a translation of a translation that I suspect you're probably using. (That would be Hebrew to Greek to Latin to English)

Haggai 2:6-9 " 6 For thus saith the Lord of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; 7 And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the Lord of hosts. 8 The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the Lord of hosts. 9 The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the Lord of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord of hosts."

Malachi 3:1b "BEHOLD, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts."

Aliza is making the same mistakes the first century Jews made.

I said I was going to give this an honest try. This is a part. More to come. As I stated this is one of the things that convinced me. Not the entire thing.

Not sure on the global flood. There are proponents of that. The evidence seem to go against that. The Bible does not say that explicitly. Whole world is not equal to Global. Scholars have looked at all the passages where "whole world" etc. have been used and it always means more "known world" or the world known to a particular person. The Flood does not have to be global to be Biblical.
