It was the Roman Catholic Church that did the co-opting, dude. Saturnalia and solstice festivals pre-date Christianity.

If by "good" you mean accomplished at lying, misdirecting, strawmanning, and obfuscating, then sure, he's a "good" speaker. Consider

Wrong. Can you even read? Consider

From one of your sources:
Plus people with exceptional eyesight have been known to see many more stars in the Pleiades cluster. Claims go up as high as 20 stars.
Miss Agnes Clerke reports that Maestlin, the tutor of Kepler, mapped out 11 Pleiades stars before the invention of the telescope.

Yabut, MOST people can only see six so it had to be a god that told them there are really seven even though there are really hundreds because there's no way people could have known there were more than six despite many people being able to see up to nine and some even more... or something like that.

The translation "the seven stars" in Amos 5:8 is just a translation being translators rendering - not what the Hebrew says.

I reckon he discovered spanking hurt his hand more than the target. Or maybe in the process of spanking he found himself being spanked - every time he swung his arm his backside hurt. This was such a mindfuck that he hasn't logged on since.

The term "seven stars" doesn't appear. It lists two constellation names, but no descriptions of the constellations are provided.

Is one of them Pleiades?

I think it is accepted as Pleiades, but when I tried to do some research on it, I found that it could be a few different constellations.
