Joshua 5New International Version (NIV)

5 Now when all the Amorite kings west of the Jordan and all the Canaanite kings along the coast heard how the Lord had dried up the Jordan before the Israelites until they[a] had crossed over, their hearts melted in fear and they no longer had the courage to face the Israelites.

Cool story, bro. Needs dragons.

Jshua 11
19 There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon: all other they took in battle.
20 For it was of the Lord to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favour, but that he might destroy them, as the Lord commanded Moses.

God, always the joker. He could have hardened their hearts to welcome the Israelites, and made the Canaanite women barren, allowing a peaceful take over. But nooooooo. God wanted slaughter, and hate and pain and suffering. "Leave none that breatheth".

Does this work for you? Luckily, all these massacres only happened on paper.

When I shake my ignore file, I can hear them buzzing!

What about that part where the Israelite and the Canaanites are technically the same people?

He wanted to show his glory. Nothing shows God's glory like a genocide. God's got a big glory. And tiny hands.

I'd bet that he's compensating for an undersized glory.

No complaints from Mary side:

The first revolt is against the supreme tyranny of theology, of the phantom of God. As long as we have a master in heaven, we will be slaves on earth.
