If xray vision doesn't work for you.. how's about we use a transparent bible?

To other than atheists, how do you see right through the ideas of the Egyptian books of the dead, or Nordic Norse runes, or see through the ideas of Confucius, Lao Tsu, and Gautama Buddha?

I use my brain. It is so useful in so many situations.
Now that I've used it just once, I don't think I can live without it.

It isn't that atheists "see right through" anything. We look at the claims and we compare it to what we know about reality. We look at the findings of archaeology, geology, cosmology and other sciences and see what makes sense. We look at the history of the culture that wrote the various bits of the bible and the evidence for editing over time. We compare it to other stories from other cultures and times and judge what is believable and what isn't. It requires time and effort and thought and valuing what is real over what is comforting and easy.

No reputable scholars believe that.
