Christians Claim Big Bang
It was only a matter of time. At least the comments give me reason to hope.

We have enough youth. How about looking for the Fountain of Smart?

RE: Christians Claim Big Bang
From the article:

Quote:Atheist-turned-agnostic astronomer Fred Hoyle, who coined the term “Big Bang,” famously stated, “A common sense interpretation of the facts suggests that a superintellect has monkeyed with physics."

As Hoyle saw it, the Big Bang was not a chaotic explosion, but rather a very highly ordered event – one that could not have occurred by random chance

I stopped reading after this. This quote from Hoyle refers to the tri-alpha process and has nothing to do with the big bang. Hoyle died denying the big bang....he was a steady stater to the end.

A matter of time indeed. That time was "when the theory was first proposed in the 1920s".
Tongue

Of course, nowadays it's pretty hard to dispute without chucking science altogether like the fundies. So the rest will bust out the old "existence exists, therefore [my specific] God exists".

... this is my signature!

I found the article to be well written and right in line with what the findings of contemporary cosmologists tell us, i.e that the space-time manifold itself as well as all matter and energy came into existence roughly 13 billion years ago.

Well, that settles it then... God's total involvement in the universe lasted less than 1 trillionth of a second.

Looks like we're on our own... Time to knock down those churches and use the bricks to build hospitals.

Or even better, we could sell the bricks and give the money to the poor.

This is the best and most honest comment, I noticed:

I don't know about atheists, but scientists know they don't know everything. It's religion that professes to have the ultimate truth with no objective evidence.
