RE: Christopher Hitchens and the atheists' mistake ~ Deepak Chopra
Religion has obviously comforted some people and been the inspiration for some great art among the good it has done. That does not mean it could be replaced adequately by realistic thinking. Santa delights children, the 'boogie man' might keep them from acting out if a parent is desperate or cruel, countless god figures have kept populations in control for better or worse. Critical thinking is still(!!!) a good thing, across the board. Call me cynical but I get the feeling Chopra's worst nightmare is not the loss of religious morals and ideals but the loss of dollars from people buying his spiritualbabble.

We all enter this world in the same way: naked; screaming; soaked in blood. But if you live your life right, that kind of thing doesn't have to stop there.
